Astrid Schünemann is a Dharma teacher, translator and breath therapist. She encountered Buddhism in the early 1980s and began meditation practice within the Karma Kagyu school in 1984. Since 1991 she has been interpreting for Buddhist teachers. From 1998 to 2001 she did the traditional three-year retreat at the monastery Kündröl Ling in France. After that she regularly participated in the annual teacher training with Shamar Rinpoche and in other activities at Dhagpo Kagyu Ling (France).
Astrid was asked by Shamar Rinpoche and Jigme Rinpoche to teach at the Bodhi Path centers in Europe and continues also to act as an interpreter for the teachers of the Karma Kagyu school.
